SHOP 108, located within 108|Contemporary is accepting submissions from Oklahoma and neighboring states* artists for the 2026 year. We are seeking craftspeople whose work represents the cutting edge of the region’s fine craft art. Submissions are accepted through June 1 - September 1, 2025. Work that meets the jury selection process and criteria will be showcased to sell on-site and online throughout the 2026 calendar year. Artists may apply for Annual Artist or Feature Artist positions (Details below). Both include marketing/PR & sales opportunities as well as arts district traffic and exposure. Both the Annual Artists and Feature Artists are encouraged to provide artwork for the annual Holiday Shop which opens in November and includes additional marketing strategies.
The deadline to apply is September 1, 2025 at midnight.

- Artist must disclose any elements contracted or executed by others
Artist must include a written statement (300 words) that includes:

Exhibition Dates: December 5, 2025 - January 24, 2026
108|Contemporary is proud to represent our innovative members by hosting a survey exhibition of their newest artwork. The State of Craft is open to all 108|Contemporary members and will feature the broad media utilized by our members, such as fiber, wood, ceramics, glass, metal, installations, and more. This exhibition will present the diverse work of the contemporary artistic talent in Oklahoma and provide five $1,000 awards for the following categories: Juror’s Choice, Craft + Art Dialog, Craftsmanship Award, Innovation Award, Contemporary Design Award.
Requirements
-All applicants must be a current member of 108|Contemporary. To join please visit our website, 108contemporary.org/membership
-All artwork must be considered contemporary fine craft. 108|Contemporary defines fine craft as all mediums besides painting, drawing, or photography. Examples include ceramics, jewelry, metal, wood, fiber, etc.
-All artwork submitted must be new and never before exhibited in the Tulsa area, and available for purchase.
-Artists must reside in Oklahoma

About the Juror,
Pauline Verbeek, originally from the Netherlands, earned her BFA from the Maryland Institute and MFA in textile design from the University of Kansas. She has taught at the Kansas City Art Institute since 1997, where she developed the constructed textiles program. A leader in innovative weaving techniques, her large-scale works explore the visual language of woven surfaces. Her art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and she’s received numerous honors, including a Kansas Arts Commission Master Fellowship and KCAI’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
108|Contemporary accepts proposals for full-gallery exhibitions. Located in the heart of the vibrant Tulsa Arts District, our gallery welcomes an average of 3,000 visitors per exhibition. We are seeking proposals that highlight innovative approaches to contemporary craft and feature work available for purchase. This exhibition submission form is not limited to Oklahoma residents.
Eligibility
- Must be fine craft (including basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture (any media), glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, paper, wood, and more). Do NOT submit painting, drawing, or photography.
- Artwork submitted was created within the past 2 years
- Artwork must be for sale
Submission
Proposals should include the following to be considered:
- A minimum of 5 high-resolution (300dpi) images, either representative or preliminary sketches
- Artist(s) statement and CV
- Proposal details for the exhibition, including but not limited to themes explored or overarching narratives unifying the exhibition. Proposals should demonstrate the ability to adequately fill the gallery.
- Proposals should be uploaded through Submittable.
Proposal evaluation
All proposals are evaluated against the following criteria.
- Innovation and Originality: the compelling nature of the exhibition, the unique connections it seeks to create, exhibition themes and/or the timely conversations it seeks to incite
- Quality of Craftsmanship: the artist’s mastery of chosen media and the level of care and attention that is evident in submitted pieces
- Cohesiveness: the body of work and how it is unified through a conceptual approach and/or decisions relating to media/techniques, size/scale, etc.
- Capacity to Fulfill Exhibition Requirements: the soundness of the project’s scope, plan, and budget, as well as the applicant’s exhibition history
- Capacity for Sales: the capacity of this body of work to sell in the Tulsa market. If the capacity for sales is limited, a demonstrated benefit to or intended engagement with the community raises the consideration for the proposal
